Best Trivia Nights In Sacramento

People everywhere enjoy testing their knowledge of all things random. What better way to enjoy some good trivia than over a cocktail or beer at a local bar? Some of our area watering holes have found a creative way to interact with and entertain their guests with trivia nights. From take-away prizes to free meals, the following bars know how to make it worth it to know otherwise useless information. Take a peek at the list below and let the games begin!

Date: Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.

What goes well with sushi? The answer is trivia Thursday nights at tokyo Fro's. Each Thursday is different depending on the crowd; sometimes the game is a friendly competition and other times it is more intense. Round up a team and get ready to put your skills to the test. Get there by 7:30 p.m. so you can order before the action starts. Take advantage of trivia night drink and food specials or order one of the specialty rolls. You'll have fun and maybe even win a prize.

The Shack is known first and foremost for its selection of beers. Some locals will tell you it makes a mean burger as well. Something else it has become known for is its trivia night. Thursday evenings starting at around 6:30 p.m., the games begin. It is recommended you get there at least 30 minutes prior to get the seat you want. Questions come in the form of two rounds of 10 and teams cannot exceed four people. Most questions are based on current events and for whatever reason, there is always a Simpsons question. First prize is $20 off of your bill, followed by $10 and $5.

Date: Thursdays at 9 p.m.

On Thursday nights. Woodstock's hosts a very fun, but still competitive trivia night. It is slightly geared toward the college crowd (after all, Woodstock's is located about a mile from UCD). The trivia begins at 9 p.m., but get there early. Sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have a team of three to six people, you can join in the fun. Depending on the week, trivia nights can have eight to 15 teams. You and your team can win "Woody Bucks" to spend at Woodstock's.

Date: Tuesdays at 10 p.m.

Tuesday night trivia starts up at 10 p.m. at Hoppy Brewing. Beer and trivia seem to go hand in hand and Hoppy knows how to have a good time with it. Hoppy offers its late night happy hour which features appetizers at half price. In addition to the food, there are also $4 beers, $14 pitchers and $6 cocktails. The program is a loose one at Hoppy so you can have as many or as few people on a team as you like, it only asks that you don't use your phone to get answers. First prize is a $20 gift card for Hoppy Brewing.

If you want to be part of one of the best trivia nights in Sac, round up a bunch of friends and head over to Blu Cue on Wednesdays. The questions begin at 6:30 p.m., but happy hour doesn't end until 7 p.m. There is no cover charge so, as always, get there early. The top three teams win prizes. Sometimes it is a gift card and sometimes free food or even drinks. Brush up on your general knowledge and get ready to kick some butt.
