Local Woman Accused Of Elder Abuse

PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) -- A woman is under arrest accused of elder abuse.

Investigators say Sherri Shifflett used her job to steal from an elderly woman she working for as a housekeeper. Shifflett allegedly stole a check from the victim's house after the victim moved into convalescent care, then cashed it at an Auburn bank.

Shifflett is being held on charges on elder abuse, identity theft, burglary, and forgery charges.
