Galt Police Arrest Man Wanted By U.S. Marshals

GALT (CBS13) -- Galt Police have arrested a man wanted by U.S. Marshals for a long list of federal offenses.

Thomas Kirby Birt, 35, of Lockeford, was arrested Monday after a foot chase through Meadowview Park in the area of Meadowview Drive and Kost Road. Police were finally able to catch Birt, thanks to the help of a K-9.

Birt had an outstanding federal warrant for a violation of probation, possession of a loaded and concealed firearm, resisting arrest, and for a felon being in possession of a firearm.

He was booked into the Sacramento Main Jail.
