SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Pacific Gas and Electric Co. crews are working to restore power to several thousand remaining customers without power, after Tuesday night’s storm cut electricity to about 152,000.
PG&E spokesman Joe Molica says about 6,500 customers, including 1,200 in the San Francisco Bay area, remained without power as of early Wednesday afternoon.
Heavy rain and strong winds damaged numerous trees and power poles within PG&E’s territory, which stretches from Bakersfield up to the Oregon border. Molica says the worst-hit area was along the northern coast around Humboldt County.
