Man Arrested In Connection To String Of Armed Robberies

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) --  The Sacramento Violent Crimes Task Force arrested a man Thursday who they say is believed to be responsible for a series of armed robberies.

Marcello Pinkney, 47, was arrested in connection with four armed robberies in Sacramento County which includes:

  • December 12, 2010,  the 7-11 store located near Watt Avenue and Elkhorn Boulevard
  • December 14, 2010, the Chevron station in the 2300 block of Sunrise Boulevard
  • December 14, 2010, the Valero gas station in the 10200 block of Folsom Boulevard
  • December 18, 2010, the Circle K store near Walerga Road and Elkhorn Boulevard       

Authorities say that the suspect is believed to have selected merchandise before approaching the counter, waiting until the clerk opened the register and then demanding money at gunpoint or assaulting the employee, before taking the money and leaving the establishment.

Deputies say that most of the robberies took place during the early evening hours.
