SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A man with cerebral palsy was robbed of his special bicycle during a senseless crime last week.

The victim was riding his special three-wheeled bicycle on Juan Road and Rancho Silva Drive at 1:30 a.m. on Friday when two men walked up and pointed gun at the man and ordered him to hand over his money and his bicycle, said Sacramento Police spokesman Norm Leong. The suspects apparently took the items and left.

The bicycle is the victim’s primary mode of transportation. The distinctive bike is blue, has a chrome handlebar, a black seat and has a black basket on the back.

One of the suspects is described as black, 6’ tall, with a muscular build and was wearing a black sweater and jeans. He is described as being 18-20 years old. The second suspect is described as black, 17-19 years old, with a thin build and was wearing a puffy jacket and jeans.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357) or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.

Just when I think people have stooped to the lowest heights, something like this happens and further dampens my faith in humanity. This is about as low as you can get. Find them and put them out of OUR misery.

I’ve lost my faith in humanity too. I don’t try to even be around people
except those that won’t laugh at me or treat me like s@&#, and that is
the reason why most of my friends are either over age 45 or under age
10 years old. Maybe it’s because I have Autism and I am like a little kid.
I know there are nice and kind 25 year olds and 17 year olds, and I’ve met
some but not really that many at all. The parents of these teens should be
very happy that their child who used to be so sweet and kind and
nonjudgemental as a 4 year old grew up and became such jerks.

I can totally see why some parents say “I wish my toddler would stay
      a toddler forever”.

The man could not defend himself thanks to the efforts of the Brady Campaign and all other gun control advocates, and the criminal who got the bike thanks them as well.

It really disgusts me to hear these kind of things! Why are people so evil? Just when I think I’ve heard it all. I can’t understand why people can be this way.

    1. Codi says:

When I hear of these things continously, I almost wish there was a way to
annul my adulthood (like how you annul a marriage; almost like it never happened).
I am embarrassed to be an adult because of the mean things adults do to
each other. I have Autism and for me, adulthood was only a name that was
given; it doesn’t show you how I really am. A so called adult. I wish I never
grew up and stayed the size of a 4 year old. I’m emotionally and socially like
one anyway, so why would it even matter??

Everyone should carry pepper spray. if they can’t carry a gun. These losers if caught will only go to jail for a few days and then they will be back in society doing it all over again, because they can get away with it , with just a slap on the hands.
You know that in some countries if you steal they cut your hand off.
What ever happened to “An eye for an eye”? I say “OFF WITH THEIR HEADS”.

Thank you Shelly, I figured as much. Just add them to the prison population.

I’m so sick of these stories, I really am very tired of it. The other day there were
3 teens (17 years old, and the other 2 were 14 years old) that robbed a 4 year old boy of his Nintendo DS, and he was crying home scared. This happened in
Stockton. These teens are getting worse and worse. I sometimes just wish
everyone just stayed like a 4 year old and never grew up. Maybe it’s easier
to see how this world would be like if we were all like 4 year olds because I
have high functioning Autism and emotionally and socially I am like a 4 1/2
    to 5 year old.

I’ve seen people write in the past on these forums as well as Yahoo news
forum messages that they are embarrassed to be a human being when
they see news like murders and child killings. I have seen quite a lot of
people write that, stuff like “I lost faith in humanity” and “I feel embarrassed
to be a human”. I wouldn’t go that far, BUT I am REALLY embarrassed to be
an adult because of all the horrible things we do to each other. I work
with preschoolers in my local library during Preschooler Storytime on
Thursdays on a fairly regular basis…we sing songs and do dances, and
my children’s librarian friend reads the preschoolers (3 – 5 1/2 year olds)
stories. I do not want to be a so called “adult” anymore, I’m 34 years old
chronologically and I’m 5’11”, but sometimes reading stories like this make
me want to become physically and mentally a 4 year old, because I know
lots of preschoolers that show much more love, affection, understanding,
empathy, and who are nonjudgemental than a lot of young adults I know.
Anyone know of a doctor who can shrink me to the size of a 4 year old
or 5 year old??? — I’m really fed up.

And yes, I get funny looks when I act like a 4 or 5 year old by some people
(eg. in the supermarket) which is really SOMETHING I CANNOT CONTROL.
I act like a little kid sometimes without knowing I am.

Treating someone with a disability like garbage is just wrong on so many levels.
Like this cerebral palsy guy who had his bike stolen. PLEASE SHRINK ME!!

Everytime I see stories like this involving Black people committing crimes I get inflamed. Not only was that just completely f***** up, it was just wrong. I hope that they catch the idiots who did this, and I hope that the person robbed will be ok. Not all of US(Black People) are like those degenerates. These Incidents hurt us as a whole, as much as it hurts the victim. I know alot of people will be making racist comments about the incident, because it involved two Black men. I want to seperate my self and others, who are not at all like those two idiots. We were not all there committing the crime, we don’t all know those men and the majority of us would never condone that behavior. Just like when someone White commits a crime, it doesn’t mean that all White people are the same, that’s just common sense. The world is becoming darker and more treacherous place for all of us regardless of color, sex, creed or disability. None of us are ever out of danger anymore. White, Black,Mexican, Asian, Poor, Rich we all could be or have been a victim of a crime. Let’s not rush to judgement on one another because of the color of one’s skin, base it on the behavior of that sole individual. Finger pointing and racial profiling, didn’t help our country 50 yrs ago and it sure won’t help now.Ethnicity is not going to stop crime, negative mind state and behavior are what gives crime it’s power, perpetuating the problems we have in this country today.
