SACRAMENTO (AP) -- California could see another inch of rain along with gale-force winds at the coast and heavy snow in the mountains as another storm hits the state.

A storm on Wednesday spawned a tornado that ripped roof tiles from homes in Dixon, a rural Northern California town.

The National Weather Service says a chance of showers will turn to rain and snow by Thursday night and continue into Friday.

Flood watches and advisories have been issued for Central and Northern California.

Southern and Central California mountains could get a foot or more of snow and the valleys could see winds gusting to 60 mph.

The waters off of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties could get 14-foot waves and gale-force winds.
