Casino Owners Promise $1 Million To Keep Kings
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- A local casino has promised to make a significant investment into keeping the Kings in Sacramento.
The United Auburn Indian Tribe, which owns Thunder Valley Casino, has pledged to invest $1 million in luxury boxes as part of Mayor Kevin Johnson's efforts to show the Sacramento region has enough business support to keep the beleaguered team from moving to Anaheim.
Johnson told the NBA's board of governors last week that businesses agreed to spend $7 million in additional investments into the NBA franchise.
An NBA relocation team will visit the region Thursday and Friday to hear from business owners and speak with the Maloofs about the possible move.
