Draft day is finally here – with Grant broadcasting live from Oshima’s Sushi in Natomas to cover all things NBA Draft.

The Kings agreed to a deal earlier in the day to re-acquire John Salmons, a topic that struck a nerve with listeners. Some fans love the move, some fans hate it – regardless, the trade talk lit up the phone lines like a brush fire.

Then, of course, the Kings had their pick – and Jimmer Mania got underway in Sacramento, as the team selected Jimmer Fredette from BYU.

Jimmer Talk carried the rest of the show, with fans calling into share their excitement and support for the newest member of the team, with a few offering suggestions for the Kings’ second round pick as well.

This is for Grant Napier. I thought Lee Smith’s comment, something like “I ain’t going to talk to nobody nohow,” might have been a Black joke. To check this out I looked up Lee Smith baseball on You Tube and found two entries where Lee Smith Spoke. One was a warning to Navy and Marine Corps personnel to get training before riding motorcycles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zHGF52UGd0
The second was a group interview. The URL for the second one is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWHsRkYUydg&feature=related.
Lee Smith speaks very well in both interviews. At times I tell my students about a comment I read that a joke is not funny if it is taken literally. I guess Lee Smith needed to work on his comic delivery.
In fairness to Smith, I request that you listen to these You Tube interviews and reconsider your implication that Smith could not speak good English.
