Buy It And Try It : Dryer Balls

It's been the goal of domestic engineers for years. Softer, fluffier towels! So now, a product with a striking similarity to a kid's toy claims to dry 25% faster, and fluff the towels higher, all without chemicals, saving tons of money on dyer sheets or fabric softener.

So we took the dryer balls to a health club that goes through hundreds of towels a day.

How many towels would you say you wash every single day?

"At least fifty loads. And per load, it's a good fifty to 100 towels. That's almost 5000 towels a day!"

How important is a soft towel?

At the end of the day are you toweled out? Yeah, I don't do towels at home now, you just air-dry at home because you're sick of towels?

So after a twenty-seven minutes, we check out the dryer-ball load.

A little damp, just a little bit

And after the dryer sheet load finishes, after 30 minutes, we fold five towels from each load, just like the picture shows.

They feel about the same to me.

The ball's a little bit higher, it looks a towel higher, maybe.

"I would do it to save money, and it's a hassle to go out and buy those dryer sheets."

"You'd probably save in the long run, it works about the same."

So our testers give the dryer ball a green light. Only problem now, keeping the kids from playing with.
