3 Lost Hikers Rescued From Forests

THREE RIVERS, Calif. (AP) -- Search crews have found a Northern California man and a Texas couple who became lost while hiking in different areas of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

A parks spokeswoman says search teams began looking for Santa Clara resident Richard Reynolds when he was reported overdue on Tuesday from a wilderness hike that he began on July 13.

A helicopter crew spotted him on Wednesday by a fire he had started. Reynolds was airlifted out of the park and taken to a hospital for evaluation.

In a separate search, a helicopter crew spotted Ken Connelly and Linda Duval-Connelly about a mile east of the Kern River.

The couple, both 39 and from Richardson, Texas, had both suffered leg injuries after falling as they hiked through rocky terrain.

The extent of their injuries was not known, but officials said they were able to walk on their own.
