RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) — Power was cut to several customers in Rancho Cordova Wednesday after a power line was accidentally cut by a construction worker.

A construction worker was working on a drainage ditch on Folsom Boulevard with an excavator when the arm of the tractor snagged a power line, pulling it down and snapping a nearby power pole. The lines fell down onto the vehicle making it a potentially deadly situation. The worker was unable to leave the tractor for an hour until utility crews arrived and were able to shut off power to the wires.
