LODI (CBS13) — A woman was found sitting on a sidewalk in Woodbridge with a small child on her lap at midnight, and an investigation revealed she left three other children alone in Lodi, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department.

Ebonitra Jones was arrested and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on three counts of child abandonment and four counts of failing to adequately provide for her children.

When contacted by deputies, Jones appeared confused and was unresponsive, the sheriff’s department said, and she was transported to Lodi Memorial Hospital for an evaluation.

While at the hospital, deputies discovered Jones had three other children who were unaccounted for, and she said she left them somewhere on the streets in Lodi.

A sheriff’s sergeant located the children on Corinth Avenue between Lodi Avenue and Pine Street. All four children were later taken to Mary Graham Hall.
