Police Cruiser Hits Home During High Speed Pursuit
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- A pursuit ended with a police cruiser hitting an Oak Park home and a suspect being taken into custody Saturday morning.
Sacramento Police initiated a pursuit after a reckless driver near Broadway and 42nd Street refused to pull over during a traffic stop, and instead accelerated to speeds reaching 70 miles per hour and racing through several stop signs.
The suspect made a sudden turn in an Oak Park neighborhood, slamming into a gate. A police cruiser tried to follow the vehicle through the turn, but ended up crashing through a fence and hitting a home.
The driver and passenger in the suspect vehicle fled the scene on foot. The passenger was arrested but the driver is still at large.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
