UPDATE: Lockdown Lifted At Citrus Heights Schools

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) -- Mesa Verde High School and Carriage Drive Elementary were on lockdown for about two hours after report of a student on the high school campus with a gun in his waistband, according to Citrus Heights police.

Police officers searched on campus with dogs for the student and gun but didn't find anything. Someone called 911 to report the gun at 11:57 a.m. and the lockdown was lifted shortly after 2 p.m.

The San Juan Unified School District, Roseville Police Department, Sacramento Police Department and the Sacramento Sheriff's Department assisted with Citrus Heights police.
