Robbers Target 7-Year-Old Girl In Stockton

STOCKTON (CBS13) -- Police say teen suspects are believed to be responsible the theft of a necklace from a 7-year-old girl.

Claudia Villeda said a group of teens approached her daughter, Brianna, as she was walking back to the family's car at a McDonalds on West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

"She screamed and started crying," Claudia said. "She said, 'Mom, they took my necklace, they took my necklace.'"

Brianna said one of the teens ripped away her gold heart pendant, breaking the chain across her neck.

"It really hurt a lot," she said. "I think it's really rude that they did that to me because I'm seven years old and they are bigger than me."

It was the first necklace she ever owned, Brianna added.

The family followed the suspects in their car to Edison High School, where the teens taunted the family and ran away, Claudia said.

Police weren't able to track down the suspects, but said another incident was reported a few hours later near the school: A 15-year-old and 22-year-old also had their necklaces ripped from their necks.

Investigators are working to determine whether the attacks are related. No arrests have been made in either incident.
