Minivan Slams Into Utility Pole; Two People Suffer Major Injuries
SOUTH SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – An overnight accident sent two people to the hospital with major injuries and also took out a utility pole.
The accident happened around 3:00 this morning on Fruitridge Road and 44th Street when the driver of a red minivan somehow lost control and slammed into the pole.
A woman was driving the van and she had a male passenger.
A witness saw the aftermath of the crash and tried to help the victims.
The man and woman were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Their conditions were not immediately known.
Crews worked throughout the morning to repair the pole and restore power to the one business impacted.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
