$2M Bail For Suspect In Hells Angels Murder

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A judge in Reno has set bail at $2 million for a California man charged with first-degree murder in the killing of a rival Hells Angel boss during a shootout at a Nevada casino.

Washoe District Judge Connie Steinheimer said Wednesday she set the bail so high for fear Ernesto Gonzalez might flee the country after a detective testified the 53-year-old member of the rival Vagos gang had reserved a flight to El Salvador the day before he was arrested on Sept. 30.

The judge says she's not sure if Gonzalez was more scared of being found by police or rival gangsters. Police say he told arresting officers that the Hells Angels were after him and asked them to get him out of the area as fast as possible when he was nabbed on the campus of the University of San Francisco.
