Former Court Official Enters Not Guilty Pleas In Child Molest Case

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A former Sacramento County family court officer facing child molestation charges says he is innocent.

An attorney for 47-year-old Daniel Horton entered a not guilty plea on Horton's behalf Thursday in court.

Police say Horton posed as a modeling agent and photographer to try and get young girls to pose nude for him and perform sex acts.

People protested outside the courtroom Thursday with signs that read "Daniel Horton Molests Children."

As a family court referee, Horton presided over juvenile cases. He was put on leave when the court was notified of the allegations and he later resigned.

He is not accused of any wrongdoing in the courtroom.
