School Bus Overturns Near Rancho Murieta
SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) — Wet roads are being blamed in a school bus accident on Jackson Highway near Rancho Murieta, according to officials.
There were no children on the bus from Whispering Pines School in Plymouth when it flipped on its side at Dillard Road and Jackson Road just after 10 Wednesday morning.
The bus driver says a car cut in front of him causing him to swerve, according to the CHP, which said the driver may have been driving too fast for the wet conditions.
The driver of the bus was not injured.
"There was a vehicle that was stopped in front of him and he didn't see it, slammed on the breaks, lost control and rolled the vehicle," CHP Officer Joe Marsac said.
Marsac offered some familiar words of caution. "Slow down. We tell you guys that all the time," he said.
