West Sacramento Soldier Dies In Afghanistan
WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A soldier from West Sacramento has died in Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense.
Spc. Manuel J. Vasquez, 22, died on Tuesday in Paktika province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 172nd Infantry Brigade, Grafenwoehr, Germany.
Vasquez was in Afghanistan supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
No other information on his death was immediately released.
