Police Say Dad Is 'Person Of Interest' In Pleasanton Mother, Daughter Killings

PLEASANTON (CBS SF) — A mother and her 13-year-old daughter were found shot to death in their home in Pleasanton Monday evening, police said.

Police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting around 6 p.m. at the home at 3532 Stacey Court.

When police arrived, they found Amy Freeman Burton, 37, dead from a gunshot wound.

Her daughter, Ainsly Freeman, was also found shot and was transported to Eden Medical Center. She later succumbed to her injuries.

Investigators wouldn't say if it was being investigated as a murder-suicide or a double murder.

No further information about the circumstances of their deaths was immediately available. Police say the father is not a suspect, but is a 'person of interest.'

Anyone with information about the shooting has been asked to call Pleasanton police at (925) 931-5100.
