Service Honors CHP Officers Killed In The Line Of Duty

WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Loved ones and members of the law enforcement community gathered to honor CHP officers killed in the line of duty.

The ceremony held at the CHP Academy in West Sacramento paid tribute to Officer Thomas Adams, who died in a traffic collision in 2011 and Officer Robert Quirk, whose death in 1971 was recently determined to be service-related.

"It's a time of reflection. It's a time of looking back at our own careers and thinking of all the times we were so close to giving that ultimate sacrifice," said CHP Assistant Chief Frank Parrish.

As part of the tribute, the names of the 222 CHP officers killed in the line of duty up to last year were read aloud.
