Pedestrian Killed By Train In Stanislaus County

EMPIRE (CBS13) – One person is dead after being struck by a train in Stanislaus County.

Stanislaus County Sheriff's deputies say a person was crossing the tracks at Yosemite Boulevard and Santa Fe Avenue when he was hit and killed by a passing Amtrak train.

Police are investigating the incident as suicide.

The train was delayed for several hours before resuming its route at around 10:30 a.m.
