The Don Geronimo Show - August 16, 2012

Today is the 35th Anniversary of Elvis Presley's death, which means it's time for Don's annual "Elvis Is Still Dead Day" celebration. This is the 27th year Don has celebrated this special day, and throughout the show, we hear numerous stories about the King, including his Dr. Nick's discovery of Elvis' hidden drug stash, the time Elvis almost OD'd on sundaes, his visit to the White House, and meeting President Nixon, his chimp, Scatter, and the legendary "Hamburger James" story.

We also hear numerous Elvis clips, including the CBS Radio News obituary, the "Where's Cosby?" performance, a Japanese guy who sings Nirvana in the style of Elvis, Elvis forgetting lyrics, and of course, the "Rip their tongue out by the roots" onstage rant. We even hear a new parody song by Steve, in the style of the Elvis hit "Teddy Bear."

After all the Elvis fun, it's time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom tells us about Robert Downey Jr. injuring himself on the set of "Ironman 3," a new Michael J. Fox TV show, preseason football games tonight, and the "Top 10 Most Trustworthy Celebrities" according to Forbes Magazine. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
