The Grant Napear Show - September 27, 2012

With Grant still at the NBA Broadcaster's meetings in New York, Jason Ross filled in and discussed the upcoming action for Week 4 in the NFL and the MLB playoff picture, among other topics. He was joined by Pete Prisco of CBS Sports, Tim Kawakami of CSN Bay Area, and the NFL Network's Jeff Darlington.

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports joined Jason Ross to discuss his recent article on the 49ers' lack of a downfield passing attack. Prisco says Alex Smith needs to be more willing to be aggressive throwing the ball deep, even if it means risking an interception. He also highlights how the Jets could possibly beat the Niners in their matchup this Sunday in New Jersey before talking about some of the other week four action, including Monday night's game between the Bears and the Cowboys.

Tim Kawakami of CSN Bay Area makes the case for Buster Posey as MVP of the National League. He also discusses the Giants' pitching rotation for the playoffs, and whether the Barry Zito, Ryan Vogelsong, or Tim Lincecum will be the odd man out of the four-man rotation. Kawakami then shifted the focus to the Oakland A's and how they're handling a tired bullpen in the middle of a pennant race before wrapping things up with a peek at the Golden State Warriors.

NFL Network's Jeff Darlington looked ahead to week four of NFL action, but first addressed the return of the league's officials after a drawn-out labor dispute that left fans with scab referees for the first three weeks of the season.
