6 Tires Slashed On Vehicles In Old Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Another criminal incident in Old Sacramento could affect tourism. Some hotel guests at the Delta King woke up to their tires slashed.

In total, six tires on vehicles parked in front of the Delta King were slashed Monday morning.

"Am I gonna ride my scooter home to Chico?" said Steven Shy.

Stranded in Old Sacramento, Shy is here on vacation with his wife.

"I don't have the money to pay for these tires to get back to Chico," said Sky.

He says the Delta King told him to call Les Schwab for new tires, but they wanted the money for them up front. Now he doesn't know if the Delta King plans to pay to replace them.

"They aren't saying they will or won't reimburse us. But how do we get this taken care of, so we can get off their parking lot?" Sky wonders.

Sky says he had his truck valet parked, thinking it would be secure.

"They charge $18 for valet service, but won't take responsibility for what happened," he said.

Another hotel guest says the Delta King is working with him to get new tires.

"They're going to get with their insurance and our insurance company, and I'm sure they'll work something out," tourist Bob Brahan said.

He's visiting from Washington; and even though this is delaying his vacation slightly, he's still trying to keep a positive attitude.

"It's unfortunate, but crazy people do crazy things. It's not going to ruin the week for us," said Brahan.

All of the cars have to be towed. Police have not identified a suspect or a motive in the vandalism.

CBS13 tried to reaching out to the Delta King for comment, but have not yet heard back.
