Man Robs Modesto Coach Store, Punches Female Employee

MODESTO (CBS13) - A man entered a Coach store in Modesto on Monday, grabbed several display purses and then punched a female employee who attempted to interfere, police said.

Modesto police officers were dispatched to investigate a robbery at the Coach store located at the Vintage Faire Mall at 6:26 p.m.

A Hispanic man entered the Coach store at the Vintage Faire Mall and grabbed several display purses. As he fled with the purses, a store employee attempted to stop him from leaving. Surveillance photographs show the suspect getting ready to punch the employee and struggling with her.

Witnesses said the suspect punched the woman with a closed fist and that she fell as he fled.

The suspect is described as about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, wearing a black Cincinnati Reds baseball cap, blue jeans and a gray sweater with red hood.
