The Don Geronimo Show - April 29, 2013

The day starts with a quick weekend recap, in which the heat led to Don having some fun with his whole house fan, and also tells us about the obnoxious family in his neighborhood that were all riding around on Segways "in formation," and getting attention from all the neighbors. We then hear about Don's DJ buddy Jack Diamond, who was fired from WRQX in D.C. on Friday. Don tells the guys a few stories about his rivalry with Jack during the Don and Mike days, before talking about the Chael Sonnen/Jon Jones UFC fight over the weekend, in which Jon Jones broke his toe, yet still beat Sonnen in the first round. Don then pulls out some new mail from Deuce Mason's dad in prison, and also reads some new Kirk/Spock stories written by a loyal listener in China, about Craig and Drew.

After discussing the NBA owners meeting that is happening today, and whether or not any information about the Kings will leak out, we hear a clip from "Hockey Night in Canada," where the hosts get in an argument over female reporters in the locker rooms, and Don reads us a list from Sports Illustrated of the "20 Greatest Movie Quarterbacks." We then hear clips from the White House correspondents dinner, and Don introduces us to a website from Australia that sells lingerie for men. Don also calls the Women's Club in Tampa, FL to talk about an 80 year old woman who swallowed a $5K diamond during a fundraiser. The guys then jump into another Rotating Random Phone Scan, but the phones begin crapping out, so Don plays for the boys a song from Bryan Adam's disco days, and then it's time for the "Phantom News. Today, an Indian daredevil dies after riding a zip line with his hair, a Florida woman gets attacked by a bull on "Cracker Day," the creator of the 99 Cent Store dies at 80, and an Oklahoma man sets his girlfriend on fire. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
