EL DORADO COUNTY (CBS13) — Highway 50 is now back open in both directions following a big rig fire east of Placerville.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a big rig carrying carnival rides caught fire sometime after 2 p.m. on Tuesday about 25 miles east of Placerville.
The westbound lanes are expected to be closed for the next two to three hours while crews clean up after the fire.
