4.6-Magnitude Quake Rattles Santa Barbara County

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) — An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.6 has rattled part of the Southern California coast.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the 7:38 a.m. Wednesday temblor was centered 3 miles west of Isla Vista in Santa Barbara County.

The quake was also felt in neighboring Ventura County.

The epicenter is in the Santa Barbara Channel region about 100 miles west of Los Angeles.

Authorities say there is no danger of a tsunami.
