Battle Of The Bay Continues Tonight In San Francisco

Tonight, the Oakland Athletics and the San Francisco Giants are heading into the second half of the Battle of the Bay.

So far, it's been nothing but A's, who won the first two games in Oakland, outhitting the Giants 14-10, and outscoring them 10-4.

Tonight's pitching match up appears to be in Oakland's favor. They will face one of the most disappointing pitchers in the Giants starting rotation, Tim Lincecum.

Lincecum (3-4) with a 4.74 ERA, lost his last start May 24 against the Rockies at home. The two-time Cy Young award winner struggled last season, ending with 10 wins and 15 losses and a 5.18 ERA.

Talking about today's pitching match up today on the Jason Ross Show, Jason and Roxy Bernstein, a sportcaster who will be calling the play-by-play tonight on CBS Sports 1140, agreed that Lincecum is a "start-by-start proposition."

The A's will send out Tommy Milone (4-5), with an ERA of 3.47. Milone's last start resulted in a win against the Kansas City Royals at home.

The hitting matchup should prove to be interesting with Giants winning 19-9 at home and the Athletics winning 15-13 on the road.

While the A's have struggled throughout the month of May, they seem to have found their groove, winning their last 5 consecutive games.

Catch all the action on CBS Sports 1140, first pitch at 7:15pm.
