Some Davis Residents Still Without Power After Transformer Explosion

DAVIS (CBS13) - Hundreds of Davis residents are still without power after an underground transformer exploded Saturday.

The explosion knocked out power to about 1,100 PG&E customers.

Neighbors say power has been on and off throughout the day. With high temperatures and no air conditioning, some residents have had to be creative cooling down.

"We'll sleep outside," Davis Resident Bill Vegel said about not having power in the heat. "We still have ice cubes left."

PG&E expects to have power restored to the area sometime Sunday evening.
