5th Planet Games Outgrows Roseville Office, Moving To Rocklin

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) — One of the fastest-growing gaming companies has outgrown its Roseville home and is on its way to Rocklin.

The company called 5th Planet Games has grown into a $10 million a year business.

"We're kind of growing and hiring like crazy," said Robert Winkler.

The company started three years ago with just a couple of guys in a garage. Now it's hoping to reach 100 employees by the end of the year.

With that kind of growth, 5th Planet is being forced to move into a space three times its current office size.

"One of the reasons we're moving is for space, but it's also a fun challenge to try and scale the company to get that 100-person mark," said Braden Moulton.

All of the company's games are free to play. The company makes its money selling virtual goods and upgrades to improve a gamer's performance and experience.

It's not your mother's Pac-Man, but it's gobbling up the market. They're focused on mobile users and promise a new game on the way.

"It's a brand new world that we're creating," said Winkler. "A brand new game engine, so they're working on their super secret little project right now."

The company plans to move into its 20,000-square-foot office space in Rocklin later this summer.
