SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — An accused murderer was caught and cuffed after a high-speed chase on a motorcycle.

Gary McMahan led officers on a chase from Lodi—where officers spotted him on a stolen Harley Davidson—to Highway 50 in Sacramento, where he pulled over for police.

The California Highway Patrol took over the chase from Lodi Police with speeds reaching up to 85 mph.

CBS has been told McMahan was swerving in and out of lanes in traffic, but drivers weren’t in any danger.

He’s suspected in a homicide in Calaveras County. The body of a man was found inside the home, as well as a woman who was unconscious and bleeding.

On Wednesday, officers declared it a homicide and named McMahan as a person of interest.
