UPDATED: Body Of Missing Citrus Hights Man Pulled Out Of American River

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Sacramento investigators pulled the body of a missing Citrus Heights man out of the American River Friday morning.

The body was discovered just after 9:30 a.m. by the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department during a second sweep of the river after Thursday's efforts came up empty.

The as-of-yet unidentified man was reported missing by family members Thursday evening. Park rangers later found the man's vehicle on an access road near the American River in Rancho Cordova, and a search was conducted into the early hours of Friday.

Investigators say there is no evidence of foul play at this time.

The Sacramento County Coroner's Office confirmed the identity of the body as the missing man, and will release his name pending next of kin notification.
