Man In Car Hit 7 Times In Drive-By Shooting; Child, 3, Also In Car

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police say a drive-by shooting victim was hit seven times, including twice in the eye.

The shooting happened just before 4 p.m. at Ford Road and Taylor Street. A man was sitting in his car when someone pulled up and fired shots into his car.

The condition of the victim is unknown. Police say the victim's 3-year-old brother who was sitting in the backseat was unhurt.

Witnesses say the victim does not live in the area, but is often seen in the neighborhood. They also say the shooting happened after the victim got into an altercation of some sort with someone in another car.

It's unknown if this incident is related a drive-by shooting that happened early Sunday morning outside a club on Del Paso Boulevard.
