Assembly Gives EDD Set Of Goals After Botched System Upgrade Hits Unemployed
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — CBS13 followed up with one man who was promised answers from the Employment Development Department after a hearing on Wednesday.
Richard Schnaidt showed up at Wednesday's Assembly committee hearing on the EDD backlog, where EDD staffers promised him a followup call, which he did get.
But Schnaidt says the money he was promised would come through by Thursday afternoon never did. We'll have more with him tonight at 10.
Meanwhile the committee sent a letter to EDD laying out five goals and deadlines to fix the issues the department has faced following a botched system upgrade in September.
Some of the goals include getting better handling of call volumes and starting translation of web pages into different languages by the end of the year.
The committee is also asking EDD to come up with a better correspondence plan with claimants by March.
