RENO (CBS13) — A gunman opened fire at a Reno medical center on Tuesday, killing one person and injuring two others before killing himself.

The shooting happened at the Center for Advanced Medicine and Neurology of Nevada at Renown Regional Medical Center. The 4-story building is not part of the main hospital, but it does have several offices and patients inside.

Reno Police believe the gunman's victims were chosen at random. One of the injured was a doctor.

Hospital employee Katy Remer heard the warning over the intercom.

"It was definitely scary. We were mostly trying to focus on our patients because we did have patients at the time, making sure they were comfortable, knew what was going on, but they weren't scared," she said.

Police say several local and federal agencies surrounded the building just minutes after getting the first call. They say there were dozens of witnesses who they are now interviewing.

"As you can imagine, they have been through a very traumatic event, and a lot of them, you can see the stress on their face," said Deputy Chief Tom Robinson.

On Wednesday, police identified the killed victim as Dr. Charles G. Gholdoian, and one of the injured victims as Shawntae Spears.

At this point, police don't know a motive for the shooting, and they don't have much information on the suspect.
