49er Fans Outraged: New BART Trains Showcase Seattle Seahawk Colors

By Ashley Quadros/KHTK Sports 1140

The good news for San Francisco is they are getting additional Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) trains. The bad news is they are highly offensive to some loyal San Francisco 49ers fans since they are adorned in Seattle Seahawk colors. See a picture here.

After the Niners lost to the Seahawks in the NFC Championship game this year, this news comes as a devastating blow for some. Is someone at BART mocking the Niners, or is this one unfortunate coincidence?

Niner fans are not taking this lightly and a new petition on Change.org is now available to sign.

It reads in part:

The Seattle Seahawks are the chief rivals of the San Francisco 49ers. To outfit BART car seats in the team colors of the Seattle Seahawks (i.e. neon green and blue) is an outrage and a slap in the face of every San Francisco 49ers fan who rides BART. We call upon BART General Manager Grace Crunican (who oddly enough worked as Director of the Seattle Department of Transportation prior to joining BART) to scrap plans to adorn BART car seats in neon green and blue and instead choose other colors.

If you'd like to help get the BART trains remodeled with new colors, you can sign the petition here.
