Search Underway For Man Who Shot At Sheriff's Deputy In Camino
CAMINO (CBS13) - A manhunt is underway in El Dorado County for a man who fired a gun at a sheriff's deputy.
Around 8 a.m., a deputy made contact with a man near Cable Road in Camino. During the incident, a struggle ensued and the man pulled out a handgun and fired at the deputy but missed, according to a statement from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office.
The man drove off on Cable Road in a white, single-cab Dodge pickup that didn't have any license plates.
The man is described as being Caucasian, in his 30's, between 6 feet 1 inch and 6 feet 2 inches tall, and between 200 to 250 pounds, with a shaved head and a goatee.
Numerous law-enforcement agencies are assisting in the search.
The sheriff's office has closed the following roads as officers continue with their search:
- Pony Express Trail at Mace Road
- Pony Express Trail at Alder Drive
- Badger Hill Road at Blair Road
- Cable Road at Copperton Road.
Reverse 911 calls are going out to residents in the area.
All schools and Marshall Hospital remain open.
