Rio Americano High School On High Alert After Threats

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Sheriff's deputies are making their presence known at Rio Americano High School, parking cars right in front of campus.

Two notes were found last week at the school, threatening that a shooting would take place.

Some parents chose not to send kids to school Wednesday.

"It seems like it's just some kind of child's game, but you've can't take that, you have to look at it seriously," said Troy Broadland, a father of a Rio Americano student.

Deputies are trying to figure out who wrote the notes.

"It was [probably] someone just trying to play a joke that went too far. I mean, you're talking about killing students and harming other people. It's not cool," said student Tyler Barnaby.

The FBI is assisting the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department in the investigation.
