RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) - Sacramento county sheriff deputies are trying to figure out how a thief was able to steal a Sacramento Metro Fire pick-up truck from a corporate yard in Rancho Cordova.

The suspect eventually drove to a Lowe's store on Zinfandel Drive where he crashed the vehicle and ran away.

Deputies arrested the suspect about a block away.

"He faces burglary, vehicle theft, possession of burglary tools, as well as warrants for auto theft," said Sgt. Todd Deluca of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
A large storage box sitting on the back of the pick-up is full of tools and appears to be stolen AT&T property, deputies say.

Deputies aren't sure when the thefts took place.

The suspect also faces felony charges for evading officers.
