Falling Gas Prices Let Shoppers Put Fuel Money Into Holiday Shopping

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — This holiday season, shoppers are delighted to see gas prices plummeting much lower than they were this time last year.

Prices have fallen nearly 70 cents since last holiday season.

People CBS13 spoke to say it couldn't have come at a better time, with the money they're saving at the gas pump going to Christmas stockings.

"It's only $40 to fill-up our car which is amazing versus $60—so a $20 difference," said Tatiana Sing.

According to AAA, the average price in Sacramento for a gallon of regular is $2.81. Compare that to last year's price tag of $3.46 a gallon, and it's clear that folks are saving big.
