Vigil Held For Victims Of Fiery Crash That Killed 4

FAIR OAKS (CBS13) – Family and friends gathered Saturday night to remember the four victims who died in a crash the day after Christmas.

Investigators are still trying to determine why one car crossed the line, hitting another car head-on.

The crash happened on San Juan and Palm Avenues in Fair Oaks yesterday at 1:30 a.m.

The parents of Brianna Rodriguez – who they say burned to death in the crash – were at Saturday's vigil. They laid out candles and pictures, remembering their oldest daughter as cheerful young woman.

They say what was supposed to be a fun car ride after Christmas turned into a tragedy for two families.

Brianna was one of four killed in that devastating crash. Friends say her boyfriend was with her.

Investigators say their Buick veered onto the center divider and collided head-on with a Subaru. The driver of the Subaru survived, and investigators say it doesn't appear he was under the influence.

For now, the victims' family hopes the tragedy serves as a message for others to make smart choices.

"Make a responsible choice because you'll only get one chance at it," said Brianna's father Javier Rodriguez.

Friends also came out to the vigil to honor Brianna's boyfriend, who they say was also killed in the crash. But Investigators have not yet identified the others killed in the crash.
