2 Central California Teachers Accused Of Sex With Student

CLOVIS, Calif. (AP) -- Police have arrested two Central California teachers accused of sexual acts with an underage high-school student.

The Fresno Bee reports that authorities arrested Matthew Pena and Dwayne Andrews late Thursday and early Friday. Both men teach and coach at a high school in the town of Clovis.

School district spokeswoman Kelly Avants said officials began investigating Wednesday after another student passed on a report of improper relations between a pupil and a school district employee.

Authorities have charged both men with unlawful sex with a minor and other counts. Clovis police said Saturday they could not immediately identify the men's lawyers for comment.
