King Tides Could Cause Flooding Along Calif. Coast

The king tide is in effect once again and will last until Wednesday in the Bay Area.

The National Weather Service says the sun, moon and the earth are aligned in such a way that encourages the largest tidal cycle of the season, which is expected to happen over the next few days.

Coastal flooding could occur in low-lying areas along the coast and bay fronts during periods of high tide. Expect Strong rip currents at the beaches and breaking waves near harbor entrances during low tide.
