Investigators: Man Shoots Wife, Another Man, Then Himself Near Crows Landing

CROWS LANDING (CBS13) – Detectives are saying that a Central Valley man shot his wife, another man, and then himself Saturday night.

According to the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to an orchard near Villa Manucha and Kilburn Roads – a little southeast of Crows Landing – around 7 p.m. A man reportedly called 911, saying he had shot two people.

At the scene, deputies found three victims – two men and one woman. The two men were pronounced dead at the scene, Stanislaus Sheriff say, while the woman was taken to the hospital.

The woman is expected to survive her wound. All three victims were shot in the upper body, deputies say.

Detectives believe that the man who originally called 911 is Mario Martinez, a resident of Keyes. The second man has been identified as Modesto resident Mario Medina, while the woman is Turlock resident Maricela Martinez.

Mario is said to be Maricela's husband. Investigators believe that Mario shot both Maricela and Mario before he turned the gun on himself.

A motive for the shooting has not been established.

Anyone with more information on the investigation is asked to call the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department at (209) 525-7103.
