Sacramento Kings To Make A Bid For The 2019 NBA All-Star Game

An announcement has been made that the Sacramento Kings will be making a bid to host the 2019 NBA All-Star Game. Kings' Presidents, Chris Granger, has released the following statement.

"During the 2015 All-Star festivities in New York City this weekend, we will make our case to the NBA for Sacramento to host this world-class event in 2019. There is much to do, but the Kings, the City of Sacramento and our fans never shy away from hard work. Our downtown arena will serve as a global model of technology and sustainability, while showcasing Sacramento's unique culture. Together with our regional neighbors, we'll make the case that Sacramento is ready to host the NBA All-Star Game and other major events."

The news comes after the Kings' received approval from the Sacramento Planning Commission to build a 16-story hotel building at the arena site. Along, with the announcement of George Karl taking over as the head coach.

Kings Center, DeMarcus Cousins, is set to play in this weekend's All-Star game. Cousins is the first Kings player to be honored with an All-Star title since 2004.
