LODI (CBS13) – A Lodi teen was dropped off at a local hospital on Tuesday morning with a gunshot wound to the head.

At around 1:13 a.m., the 13-year-old boy was left at Lodi Memorial Hospital with the life-threatening wound. He was taken to an area trauma center.

Hospital security staff got the license plate of the vehicle that dropped off the boy before it drove off. Lodi police later found the vehicle in the 400 block of E. Locust Street.

Detectives have since taken over the investigation.
